The Governing Board has given a green light to an amount of 245,000 euros to help and assist more than 4,000 elderly people, minors and in severe poverty with limitations to cover their basic needs or decent housing.
The subsidies, granted through the Department of Social Rights, directed by Conchita Ruiz Caballero, are specifically earmarked for the Asylum of Little Elders of the Poor and Caritas Diocesana, 20,000 euros and 225,000 respectively.
The Asylum of Elderly Little Sisters of the Poor is a residence of people over 65 years old in a situation of high social vulnerability that aims to provide a pleasant coexistence in an environment of peace, harmony, respect and solidarity, where the elderly feel as in Their own home, giving them an integral attention and accompanying them in all their needs until the end of their days.
Currently, there are 70 people admitted, of whom 50% are elderly or dependents who require greater dedication and care.
For its part, Caritas Diocesana renews its collaboration agreement with the City of Murcia, to serve more than 4,000 disadvantaged people in the municipality of Murcia with an amount of 225,000 euros.
The project of this Association is called 'Actions to Combat Poverty and Social Exclusion', to finance the Cayam Children's School, which serves 45 children between the ages of one and three years;
Another corresponding to the Housing Residential in Tuteladas Housing, with 8 homes located in the municipality of Murcia, having 67 places of welcome and a host estimate for 2016 of 130 people;
And finally the Social Accompaniment and Assistance Service, aimed at people in situations of severe poverty with limitations to cover their basic needs or decent housing, in social accompaniment processes.
