The City of Murcia celebrates Children's Rights Day with a children's party in the Silk Garden (10/11/2016)

The City Council of Murcia, through the Department of Social Rights, directed by Conchita Ruiz Caballero, has organized a varied program of activities to mark the celebration of the Rights of Children Week, being the Childhood City of childhood, as A Children's Plenary, cinema, theatrical shows and informative point.

During the week of November 14 to 20, 35 associations, entities and groups from Murcia work daily with and for children, remembering the rights of children as the right to a dignified life, to express and be heard, to Being close to and relating to the family and having a protected private life, among others.

The City Council has been celebrating for the last seventeen years this week, whose main objective, Ruiz Caballero said, is to "promote, among children and adolescents, awareness of their own needs, rights and obligations and raise awareness of the whole Of the population on the needs and rights of children ".

Last year, Ruiz recalled, 5,500 children participated in the activities programmed with this reason.

The activities planned for the whole week are:

INFORMATIVE POINT: installed in the Plaza de Santo Domingo from Monday 14 to Friday 18 November, with afternoon schedule.

Next to the information point will be installed 4 explanatory panels on the most relevant articles of the Convention.

There will be playful activities in the afternoons to involve the children attending, both groups of children's projects of different neighborhoods and districts, as well as other associations / entities or children's public in general.

CHILDREN'S THEATER: Throughout the week, with works like 'Pulgarcito', 'With Imagination In-Box' and 'Don Quixote and Sancho Panza'.

Simultaneously, throughout the week, activities will be carried out in neighborhoods and districts related to children's rights, such as various workshops, gymkanas, murals, drawing contests, games, storytelling, chess and ceramics workshop, etc. .

PLENARY CHILDHOOD: Thursday, November 17, November 20 at 10:00 am in the Plenary Hall of the City of Murcia, organized by the Department of Education, Relations with the University and Heritage.

FILM FOR ADULTS IN THE REGIONAL FILMOTECA: Thursday, November 17 at 20:30 pm screening of the film 'Techo y Comida' by J. Miguel del Castillo.

CHILDREN'S PARTY: In the Silk Garden from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 20.

There will be various workshops organized by 35 Children's associations that collaborate in the Week, a climbing wall will be installed so that the most daring can start the adventure of climbing.

On the stage there will be animation, music and the performance of the group "Sonorama.

Rhythms for inclusion "that will offer a contemporary jazz concert, accompanied by a group of Rosales minors, who participate in this inclusion project through music.

In order to support the different activities that are developed together with the information point throughout the week, we have the participation of 10 university Volunteers.
