Religions and their contribution to harmony and peace (09/11/2016)

Outstanding representatives of Muslim, Russian Orthodox, Catholics and Jews participate in these days organized by the UCAM and the Azerbaijan embassy in Spain that was held yesterday in Madrid and tomorrow Thursday at the Campus of Los Jerónimos

The Catholic University of Murcia and the Azerbaijan embassy in Spain hold a conference on 'Religions and their contribution to harmony and peace', which took place on Tuesday at 6 pm at the Hotel Internacional de Madrid and tomorrow Thursday 10 November, starting at 11 o'clock, at the Campus of Los Jerónimos.

The activity, which involves religious, political and university authorities, aims to raise awareness of the religious and cultural reality of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the peaceful coexistence of different denominations in a country with a Muslim majority, and aims to promote interreligious dialogue .

Assistant Authorities

A delegation of religious and political authorities from Azerbaijan, including Allahshukur Pashazade, Sheyj-ul Islam and Great Muftí of Azerbaijan and the entire Caucasus, are expected to attend the ceremony in Murcia.

Kamal Abdullayev, State Counselor for Interethnic, Multicultural and Religious Affairs;

Mubariz Qurbanli, Chairman of the State Committee of Azerbaijan for Work with Religious Organizations;

Aleksandr Ishein, archbishop of the Orthodox Church of Azerbaijan;

Vladimir Fekete, Apostolic Prefect of the Catholic Church in Azerbaijan;

Milikh Yevdayev, head of the Jewish Community of Azerbaijan and Abel Maharramov, rector of the University of Baku, with which the university institution Murcia will sign a collaboration agreement.

Anar Maharramov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Spain, will also take part in the event;

Cardinal Antonio María Rouco Varela;

José Manuel Lorca Planes, bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena;

José Luis Mendoza, president of the UCAM;

Jaime Rossell, Assistant Director-General for Conflict Relations at the Ministry of Justice, and the organizer of the event, Dr Ali Evsen.
