The University of Murcia and the FREMM will collaborate in training and research activities (09/11/2016)

The University of Murcia (UMU) and the Regional Federation of Metal Entrepreneurs (FREMM) will collaborate in training and research activities, as set out in the agreement signed in the Convalescence building, headquarters of the Rector.

The promoter of the agreement, the Vice Chancellor of Transfer, Entrepreneurship and Employment, Francisca Tomás, has indicated that it means "the formalisation of the fruitful and constant relations of cooperation that are usually carried out between the Federation and the University of Murcia."

He also highlighted the numerous activities, such as meetings and business forums, which are being carried out in the area of ​​transfer, together with those undertaken in the field of labor insertion, in the latter case, with initiatives such as the internship program Extracurricular courses of excellence, with a differentiated treatment by sectors of interest, and the dissemination of the services of the Placement Agency among the associated companies, thus facilitating the labor insertion of UMU graduates.

On the other hand, Professor Tomas said that "we are going to generate what we have called 'entrepreneurship neuron', which will provide those companies of the FREMM that require partners or collaborators from among our graduates contacts to carry out joint business projects . "

He also said that a network of FREMM mentors will be created so that entrepreneurs in the sector can manage entrepreneurship projects generated at UMU and related to their sector of activity.

The president of the Federation, Juan Antonio Muñoz, has reiterated the commitment of the organization he leads with the UMU, within the close relationship that has been maintained for years.

He has also highlighted the fruits of this sustained collaboration over the years, which has meant, among other achievements, the formation of some 2,000 students.

The event was closed by the rector, José Orihuela, who congratulated himself on the achievements of this cooperation started twenty years ago.

In addition, it has encouraged all that, with a view to the Competitiveness Forum to be held on the 23rd, a commitment is made to set some challenges by which companies can present their needs to UMU for analysis And try to respond to them.

The act of signing the agreement has also been attended, among others, the General Secretary of the Federation, Andrés Sánchez, and the OTRI director, Antonio Montes.
