The Governing Council of the University of Murcia (UMU), which met today in the building of convalescence, has approved a cooperation agreement to be signed with the Foundation for Health Education and Research in the Region, by which it will deliver plus three million (3,046) at the educational institution to complete the works related to the functional enablement building Biomedical Research Laboratories (LAIB).
The agreement states that 1.7 million will be allocated to facilities and equipment for LAIB;
110,000 euros to reform the teaching pavilion, and the rest to complete the infrastructure of the building itself, located on the campus of Health Sciences, next to the hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca in El Palmar.
The agreement also indicates that the parties affected by it have agreed that there were two circumstances that bring about changes advised in the previous distribution of investments.
On the one hand, the urgent need to expand the spaces dedicated to health care in that hospital, and on the other, moving platforms and new research groups to LAIB building.
To this it is served with the approved investment now.
Within the Vice President for Training and Innovation it has approved the call for aid to teaching innovation groups, with a budget of 200,000 euros.
Also, at the initiative of Vice President for Research, the Council approved the call for the incorporation of research personnel with highly qualified technical profile, with a total of ten contracts, each of which will involve an annual cost of 43,100 euros.
Moreover, the proposal of the Vice President for Transfer, Entrepreneurship and Employment, have been approved 129 educational cooperation agreements for the realization of extracurricular placements by students of the UMU in the fourth quarter of this year.
It has also given its approval to the agreement signed with the Regional Federation of Metal that promote student placements in companies, allow greater relationship between these and researchers of the UMU and enable teachers of this educational institution they can collaborate in the training of them.
This body of university governance, proposed by the Office of Research has approved a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment for a study on the quality of the waters of the Mar Menor, with funding of 244,000 euros.
The rector, José Orihuela, has informed the members of the Governing Council of the purpose of the team that presides to move the building services of convalescence, home of the Chancellor, the Faculty of Medicine, Campus de Espinardo.
That move, he said, will take place when all services of this center to its new location to move, on the campus of Health Sciences.
It has also indicated that it has established an office of the Rector on the campus of Espinardo, where periodically he and the members of the government team will attend to members of the university community.
