"Read messages or emails, but we have lost the habit of reading more complex texts" (26/10/2016)

The Catholic University of Murcia has hosted the First Conference titled Reading 'restless Readers: Reading activities from a transversal approach'.

The event, organized by the Department of Education of the UCAM, bears the slogan 'Read to live, live to read' was presided over by Micaela Bunes, deputy director of the Degree in Early Childhood Education, and Antonio Candeloro, professor of Spanish in the degree in Elementary Education from the University.

Antonio Candeloro said that "the aim of this conference is to promote reading, arouse curiosity about her and infect others with the benign virus of literature from a transversal approach. Reading now seems to suffer disrepute by certain readers, as today, complex literary texts are read, read only dedicated to mobile text messages or e-mails, but we have lost the habit of reading more complicated texts ".

Throughout the day, there have been various lectures by teachers of grades and master the area of ​​education UCAM, presenting a series of literary texts from authors, currents and different eras.

Thus, the days are starting from ancient literature, classical Greek and Latin, and have completed the Spanish and Latin American contemporary literature of the twentieth century.

One of the speakers was Patricia Gutiérrez, professor of Teaching in Social Sciences in Grade Primary Education in the UCAM, who explained in his lecture entitled 'Fascination with the magical realism of Peruvian literature' that students are You should be encouraged to read.
