Murcia and Logroņo come together to offer more promotional opportunities to young artists from both cities (25/10/2016)

The mayors of Murcia and Logroņo, José Ballesta and Cuca Gamarra, signed this morning in Madrid the agreement to collaborate on a project related to one of the policies that are priorities for both: support for young artists and their hand, cultural development of their cities.

Thus, the agreement confirms its involvement in the project 'Building Networks.

Young Creation ', which promotes the exchange of artists of diverse disciplines between Logroņo and Murcia;

originating thus "a meeting place to share experiences, creative processes and thus boost talent and artistic production," said José Ballesta, who added that "we are committed to collaborative local politics, as in this case and through this agreement expands opportunities for young people, helps them weaving networks that will enable the growth of their professional and artistic careers. "

As noted by the mayor of Logroņo, Cuca Gamarra, "we believe in the power of creativity as an engine of development of our cities;

we conceive as much more than a physical space, we believe that the Culture, Art is the soul that gives life;

cities makes them open to participation, that encourage curiosity and learning.

So we want to encourage developers to translate their concerns and promote our partnerships with energy. "

'Weaving Networks' is therefore to provide opportunities for young people with artistic ideas, both individually and in groups, in various areas: performing arts, visual, graffiti, music, magic, dance, dance, circus, performance ....

The agreement ratified today at the headquarters of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) between Murcia and Logroņo is open to other cities that share the same goal, as reported by their mayors.

In principle it involves promoting exchanges of creating constant contact and networking among local young artists, but also involves a close relationship between professionals in Youth administrations and associations and groups.

Apart from the formal ratification of the agreement, Murcia and Logroņo take some months working together, having already obtained fruits of this collaboration.

So, in September the Purple Elephant group participated in programming Parrilla 2016;

and in the early days of this October's logroņeses acted Teddy Fake False Door Room Murcia, in the final of the music competition of the festival CreaMurcia.

As stated in the articles of the agreement, the municipalities of Logroņo and Murcia are committed throughout the year to develop at least two activities: one as an organizer / receiver and other young artists as issuer / participant.

This should bear the expenses of the artists and the organizer / receiver, the hosting, maintenance and production.

The cost of implementing the proposed activities (insurance, transportation of elements ...) be paid by the organizer council.

The agreement itself does not entail any expense;

having a term of two years and it may be extended for biannual periods.

a monitoring committee for the development of the actions included in the program is established.
