Luis Marino combines painting and photography in an exhibition at the Library of the UMU (24/10/2016)

"Natumática" is the title of the exhibition that the artist Luis Marino forth in the General Maria Moliner Library of the University of Murcia and can be seen until 18 November.

NATUMÁTICA is an acronym that integrates nature and mathematics in an attempt to show the beauty of nature with perfect linear definition of mathematics through three concepts that Luis Marino relates: the Fibonacci sequence, the golden segment and the number of gold .

José María Jails, curator of the exhibition, says that we have a stimulating cocktail mix "research and creative process of the artist", which "results in an original, intelligent and beautiful exhibition".

Unique colors, architectures with spirals perfect and harmonious logarithms of molluscs, asteroids, seahorses ... cause, according to the commissioner a "synesthetic bouquet" that affects the viewer's senses and allow even perceive "a certain smell of the sea with the sound of conch ".

According to Maria Jose Jails, "The University of Murcia is the ideal place to exhibit these works where the properties of nature with mathematical accuracy is conjugated place. The artist Luis Marino has created an original work of great beauty, combining photography and painting; this result was possible thanks to years of research and experimentation with different techniques and materials. "

Marino Luis (Mazarrón, Murcia), is a plastic and visual artist with extensive professional experience at national and international level.

He works with various artistic disciplines: painting, sculpture, audiovisual, installation and photography.

His knowledge of the common techniques leads him to investigate and create new ones to work in the different media in which it evolves artistically, using innovative materials.

In the work of Luis Marino, it highlights the treatment that gives the color and textures.

His creations range from the microscopic to the large format.

Another feature is the use of indigenous materials from places where develops your research on each new job, getting a marriage between the work and the artist.

In this exhibition, Marino photo scanner uses to develop his artistic photography, then expands on a paper that has been treated for the occasion, and completes the work by painting.
