It is started expanding frequencies and bus services that connect the South Coast with Murcia (20/10/2016)

José Ballesta and Pedro Rivera presented the new services enabled on lines 78 Beniaján-El Palmar and 30 Zeneta Murcia, which will benefit 100,000 residents of 16 districts of the municipality.

The City Council is responsible for the financing involved the expansion and improvement of this public service with 350,000 euros a year, thanks to an agreement signed with the Community.

Early this morning have launched new public transport services that connect the villages of the South Coast with Murcia, an improvement of an increase in the number of shipments and frequencies of buses and benefiting some 100,000 residents a total of 16 districts of the municipality.

The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, and the Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Pedro Rivera, today introduced these new services that respond to a demand of the residents of the South Coast, and have been put in place thanks to the agreement signed this summer between the two Administrations, by which the City is responsible for financing involved the expansion and improvement of this public service with 350,000 euros annually.

Specifically, the improvement has been carried out in two lines serving 16 districts of the southern ridge of the municipality: the 78 Beniaján-El Palmar and 30, Zeneta Murcia.

Line 78, which connects Beniaján with El Palmar (La Arrixaca), passes through Garres, Algezares, Santo Angel and La Alberca.

This is the main route, but the service also has an additional route that goes from El Palmar to Sewer (through San Gines, Era Alta, Nonduermas and Sewer).

There is one last stretch connecting with Espinardo Sewer, paying a university service from El Palmar to the Campus.

Starting today, the number of expeditions in the Beniaján-El Palmar connection goes from 3 to 19 (one way) and 2-20 (back) on weekdays and from 0 to 19 in the non-school.

On the way El Palmar-Sewer shipments increased 5 to 8 on school days and spend 4 to 7 in the non-school.

The amplitude of the service is 15 hours, from 7.05 to 2205, with a frequency of between 30 and 80 minutes.

In addition, this line will enable two new buses suitable to the required places, with platform for disabled and low emissions.

With respect to service that connects Zeneta Murcia (touring Los Dolores, Beniaján, TorreagĂźera and Los Ramos to El Mojon), on working days they are to be made 7 expeditions more, from 9 to 16. In contrast itinerary, Murcia Zeneta they are to perform 6 expeditions more, from 10 to 16.

With this increase, there will be buses from 7.00 to 22.00 hours and the service is at a frequency of one hour between Zeneta and Murcia, except in the expedition from Murcia at 8.00, which leads to the village of Cabezo de la Plata .

In addition, the City consolidates the Community paid services temporarily and were awaiting financing, bringing five expeditions Saturday Zeneta be made to Murcia and 6 in the opposite direction, and on Sundays and holidays will be in May.

Bureau of Transportation

It is expected that before the end of this year can constitute the Bureau of Transportation, the plural, advisory, study and participation body that will be responsible for assessing the needs for transport of different districts and neighborhoods of the municipality, and propose the solutions necessary for their development.

Among its members are representatives of different social groups all municipal groups, users, neighborhood associations, economic agents.
