Murcia joins the initiative "Walking Liberty" to be held on Saturday in about 300 cities in 40 countries (12/10/2016)

Murcia will add Saturday to the initiative "Walking Liberty", organized with the aim of raising awareness against human trafficking.

On 15 October, from 17:00 to 19:00 hours, people around the world will join a movement to abolish modern day slavery step by step.

The event, which is promoted by the NGO A21, with the cooperation of the City of Murcia and the Autonomous Community, will take place simultaneously in over 300 cities -of which 10 of Spain and 40 countries.

Last year more than 200 walks took place in 28 different countries around the world.

There were more than 12,000 participants and was reached about 45 million people through social networks.

The aim of this third -first edition which adds Murcia- is "much more aware and to bring a change in the fight against human trafficking, said the Councillor of Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, who will be one of the participants in the march next Saturday.

The event is not planned as a protest, but as a quiet and simple line of people walking through those 27 million men, women and children still trapped in slavery today.

The tour will start from the Plaza Circular to Gran Vía, advanced to Glorieta Spain, Plaza Cardenal Belluga, Plaza Santo Domingo, Avenida Alfonso X the Wise and again culminate in the Plaza Circular.
