The Moneo building light pink morning to celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child (10/10/2016)

Moneo building facade lights pink morning Tuesday, October 11, from 20.30, to support the defense of the rights of girls to mark the International Day of the Girl Child.

With this initiative, made a proposal of the organization in defense of the rights of children, Plan International, by the Department of Public Works, directed Roque Ortiz, Murcia joins 21 other Spanish cities that will illuminate its most emblematic buildings.

With the City of Murcia, also illuminate simultaneously the Palacio de Cibeles in Madrid, Palacio de la Magdalena in Santander, Cathedral of Palma de Mallorca, Puerta de Alcantara in Toledo, the Hanging Houses of Cuenca, the Campoamor Theatre in Oviedo, the sources of Aragon in Vigo, the Theatre des Champs Elysees in Bilbao, the Wall of Avila, the Aqueduct of Segovia, Rotunda Dome in Melilla, the Fountain Square of Spain in Seville, La Fuente de Murrieta Logroño, the Moat of Almina and Royal walls in Ceuta, the Palace of the Aljafería in Zaragoza, the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and the facades of the municipalities of Caceres, Santiago de Compostela, Valencia, Granada and the Cabildo of Gran Canaria.

In addition, cities around the world support this initiative.

The International Day of the Girl Child, declared by the General Assembly of the United Nations, recognizes the rights of girls and exceptional challenges they face worldwide.

To this day we want to defend the right also have girls going to school to receive a quality education that allows them to break the cycle of discrimination and poverty and contribute to the development of a more equitable society.
