About 75,000 students will participate in activities'Murcia, City educadora' (10/10/2016)

The Councillor for Education, University Relations and Heritage, Rafael Gómez, presented this morning 'Murcia, Educating City', the program of educational activities for the course 2016/2017, maintaining, as each course, commitment to school and youth in training.

'Murcia, Educating City' offer 92 activities to the 186 schools in the municipality, of which 141 are public schools, 44 arranged and 1 private (124 correspond to districts and 62 to town), with a student population of 74,634 students / as of 3-18 years.

The program includes school visits the municipality of Murcia, Primary, secondary and high schools to places or monuments in order to promote and support social and cultural events in our town.

Students also may participate in plays, concerts, puppet shows, concerts and visits to libraries.

92 activities are offered to students from kindergarten to high school:

Activities 3 years

-The Seven Little Kids: show starring puppets and an actress-narrator that introduces school in the history represented, based on the story compiled and written by the Brothers Grimm.

-The Sun and Sunflower: black theater fantasy, original live music that tells the story of the Sun and Sunflower.

Activities 4 years

-Maricastaña: Puppet theater with classical texts for children of Juan Ramon Jimenez, Ramon Gomez de la Serna, Miguel Hernandez, Antonio Robles and Maria Elena Walsh, whose objective is to transmit folktales, poetry, greguerías and popular music.

Activities 4-5 Years

-A Moon: show combining theater and film animation, acting with characters and spaces cartoon to shape a magical story full of tenderness and fantasy.

-The Magic book Paula: Concert of classical dance in which the dancers interpret an unpublished children's story in which characters appear folktales.

-Menudas Visits-Red Municipal Library (5 years): activity that takes place on the premises of the 17 libraries of the Municipal Network of Libraries of Murcia, where it is disclosed to school, in a fun and participatory, resources , organization and service them.

1st and 2nd Primary Activities

-The Ark Noe- (theater show provided La Caixa Foundation): theatrical show based on the story of an actress, accompanied by live music, sound and visual effects.

-Center Visitors of the Wall (Santa Eulalia): Tour of the three floors of the museum where schoolchildren know the historical significance of the wall of Santa Eulalia, the defensive system and the urban evolution of the city from the Islamic period to the eighteenth century through projections, models, audiovisuals, maps, and an interactive that connects with the Islamic Murcia Barroca.

Activities 3rd and 4th Primary

-The Adventure of Mowgli.

The musical: Theatrical show that combines music, lights and sound.

Based on the work of Rudyard Kipling's "The Jungle Book".

-Menudas Visits Municipal Library Network (4th): activity taking place in the premises of the 17 libraries of the Municipal Network of Libraries of Murcia, which is disclosed to school, in a fun and participatory, resources, organization and how to use a library.

5th and 6th primary activities

-Concert For Peace "Let all the bullets were nightfall": to bring students the culture of peace through music and poetry, promoting education for coexistence and respect for the rights and freedoms intended to prevent school violence and support the most disadvantaged.

-The Water Architecture: Tour the banks of the River Segura to know our historical and artistic heritage, cultural events, services and environmental problems.

The route starts at the Glorieta de Spain, will continue for the Old Bridge to explore and contrast the architecture of the various bridges over the river, and the shrine of the Virgin of the Dangers, will visit the Hydraulic Museum the Mills River to finish in the Garden of Floridablanca.

Secondary activities

-Concert For equality and against gender violence: "The hatless" interactive poetic-musical concert against gender violence, to promote egalitarian values ​​among young people with the intention to solve possible problems or presence of abuse may arise, bringing the importance of women of great cultural and poetic significance that have been forgotten.

-School Friend: play performed by Jesus Forsaken Foundation, whose purpose is to break the topics of social inclusion and promote their integration.

With the staging of the show "1,2,3,4 ....... LOVE" in the schools themselves, reflecting on love.

The main objective of this program, said Gomez, is that children and young people "perceive the opportunities that the city offers to incorporate knowledge that will not only valuable in their school period, but will profit throughout his life" thus, he said "it seeks to encourage openness to knowledge and experiences that enrich social life in the community."

The heritage of the city is taught from an integrated and complex perspective, where the patrimonial referents are articulated as a unique cultural event constituted by various manifestations, historical, artistic, ethnological, scientific-technological and natural, which together allow knowledge full of different societies both past and present, who become cultural symbols.
