On Thursday, October 6th, the city of Murcia will pay tribute to the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), both made by children of the municipality of Murcia during the Civil War.
The Quakers, with the collaboration of volunteers, opened a hospital for these children in what today is the municipal building New Gate Street.
The motion put forward by the Municipal Socialist Group last January, the placement of a commemorative plaque to honor the work of the Quakers and their enormous contribution to the welfare of the children of Murcia in such a turbulent period proposed.
The event, which will take place at 17.30, attended by the Socialist Party spokesman Jose Ignacio Gras, and the councilor Begoña García Retegui, who defended personally the proposal in plenary and reiterated last September the need to comply as before that, who collaborated with the Quakers and still live to witness this, they can witness this tribute.
