The Socialist Party denounced the lost Ballesta in the recovery of the old railway line between Los Dolores and Zeneta year (22/08/2016)

Councilman Municipal Socialist Group, Enrique Ayuso, accompanied by fellow councilor Juan Vicente Larrosa and the PSOE spokesman in the Municipal Board of Zeneta, Regina Sarria, visited on Monday some of the sections of the old railway line that runs through it eight kilometers along the districts of Los Dolores, San Jose de la Vega, Beniaján, Torreagüera, Los Ramos, Stables and Zeneta.

Ayuso has complained that, despite the motion adopted unanimously by the full City Council of Murcia September 2015 at the initiative of the PSOE for recovery for the municipality of this ancient route, the PP government has done nothing.

"Ballesta has lost a year that could have been negotiated with Adif the recovery of those eight kilometers of abandoned land. It is a huge site that, with political will, could become a Green Corridor for transportation and leisure, just as we propose the Socialist Group. "

The PSOE mayor has criticized the abandonment Adif keeps on these lands since 2008 was put into operation Alternative Reguerón, and has criticized the lack of interest Ballesta and his team to negotiate with Adif the transfer of those eight kilometers.

"The mayor of Murcia is not able, or even, to require the Ministry of Public Works cleaning of this ancient road and there are increasing complaints of rodent pests and mosquitoes in the area."

The Socialist councilor also pointed out that the residents of the seven districts through which ran the railway line "have seen not only lost the only railway line that had, but also as the railway line was abandoned giving way to weeds and pests, and as the walls that lined the roads were bisecting their populations. "

Therefore, the Socialist Group defended a year ago an initiative to hold a competition of ideas that had the objective of creating the railway line abandoned a Green Corridor communication and entertainment that would allow, on the one hand, expedite the transport of residents of the area and, secondly, to serve as a recreational and leisure area.

"The transfer of these lands is essential for the seven districts of the South Coast of Murcia (about 40,000 people), because it could turn the area into a recreational area and vital to improve the lives of our neighbors communications. We are talking about a corridor for walking, cycling and for which they could transit buses and taxis, improving the connection between these districts and the center of Murcia ".

"We also request that the study of the rehabilitation of abandoned Los Ramos-Alquerías and the halt of Torreagüera, to give it a social destination according to the demands of the nearby hamlets station included in this participatory competition," stated Enrique Ayuso, who has concluded Ballesta demanding the mayor and his administration "to stop advertising to announce and begin working to fulfill the agreement and outputting important projects for Murcia as the Green Corridor".
