The Socialist Party calls for more effective for the local police in Murcia to problems of insecurity (13/08/2016)

Councilman Municipal Socialist Group, Juan Vicente Larrosa, again denounced Wednesday the insecurity caused by the lack of police in the municipality of Murcia.

As explained by the mayor of the PSOE, despite the "great display" announced by the Councillor for Security in early July, "it is still visible a lack of local police on our streets, which in summer is a greater risk of theft and vandalism because the homes are empty. "

We must also add some nights closure of certain quarters of the local police, so that when ads are received by the neighbors, police crews have to spend more time meeting the demands.

This has happened, in particular days ago in districts like Guadalupe, which usually handled by agents Espinardo barracks, and when closed, services are provided by the headquarters of La Raya.

According to estimates of the PSOE, the municipality of Murcia should have a hundred more agents, which would add to the current workforce of about 580 troops.

Thus the proportion established by public safety experts have 1.5 officers per 1,000 inhabitants would be reached.

"Enough of advertising campaigns and ads, because what you are asking local police and citizens are solutions," said Larrosa.

This lack of agents may become more evident in the near future, when operate the headquarters of the Local Police Alberca, whose work is finished for more than a year ago, but whose opening is still delayed due to the lack of equipment and meet certain requirements.

Meanwhile, the Socialist Group has been informed that they will incorporate some agents from other municipalities, who once joined templates called Brigades of Public Safety created in 2007. The PSOE mayor believes that " this is nothing more than a patch for not rigorously address the lack of local police, while new oppositions are not called and there is no internal promotion in the template of Murcia ".

Juan Vicente Larrosa has indicated that it is urgent to address the problem and this summer closer collaboration between Civil Guard, National Police and local police should have been planned to prevent theft and vulnerability, especially in remote districts of the town and areas orchard.

"They are giving burglaries orchard that remain empty while the owners are on vacation or spending the day out. You can not lie to the public announcing with great fanfare more police presence, when it is impossible to keep that promise if not offer new places. there are not enough effective and are our neighbors who suffer insecurity and demand solutions ".

Currently, the municipality of Murcia has ten headquarters of the local police: two in the urban area of the city (in the neighborhoods of Infante Juan Manuel and fleet) and the remaining eight districts (Los Martínez del Puerto, El Palmar, La Raya, Espinardo, El Esparragal, Beniaján, Bacons Bridge and Alquerías).
