The City of Murcia launches awareness campaign to promote'Lactancia Materna' (04/08/2016)

The City of Murcia, through the Department of Health and Sports who runs Felipe Coello, has launched an information and awareness to support and promote breastfeeding campaign, an initiative framed in the European project 'Together: Healthy healthy for you, for both'.

The aim of the campaign, launched on the occasion of the celebration of World Breastfeeding Week from 1 to 7 August, it is to increase breastfeeding rates, raise awareness and communicate the benefits for both mother and baby, focusing in all aspects related to health, the economy and sustainable development.

In addition, it also aims to identify and provide the key importance to community resources through support groups for breastfeeding.

The campaign, which was developed with the support of the Midwives Association of the Region of Murcia, disseminated in all health centers in the municipality, educational materials for health to support the advice of health professionals who report on the benefits, key to a good start breastfeeding in the first hours after birth, and to keep it permanently.
