The University of Murcia (UMU) and the Equestrian Club Aros have created the International Equestrian Chair of Innovation, which will be chaired by the rider Cayetano Martinez de Irujo.
Chair, says the agreement constitution signed in the Rector of the University of Murcia, it aims to establish a space dedicated to innovation, research, training and dissemination in the equestrian field, involving both teachers and students university and professional equestrian sector.
Among the activities to be carried out by the Chair, which will have an annual funding of 30,000 euros per year provided by the Club Aros, is the development of research related to horse racing, promoting seminars and training courses, provision of scholarships , editing publications related to the equestrian world or making curricular and extracurricular practices, among others.
The director of the Club, Isabel Hernandez Carpena, said during the ceremony of signing the agreement that "the comprehensive study of the horse at the University of Murcia, with international projection, is the goal of all that participated in this project, which aims to activities on this animal a university and scientific treatment ".
In short, "a tool and an instrument for achieving welfare, consideration and dignity of the horse," he noted.
For its part, the rector of the University of Murcia, José Orihuela, has highlighted the implementation of this Chair, as is "transfer the knowledge generated at the University of Murcia", the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, stated, "it is one of the best in Spain. "
