Eleven young researchers from the University of Murcia (UMU) will rejoin departments of this educational institution through the program Visa Talent "Saavedra Fajardo Action".
The regional government, through the Seneca Foundation, will allocate 78,000 euros to each of the 14 selected young doctors, who may well continue their research projects in the Murcia region over the next two years.
The beneficiary organizations must co-finance these contracts, which, in the case of the University of Murcia, is a contribution of 150,000 euros per year for its 11 researchers.
This investment is a strong commitment to attracting talent to the rectory team UMU, through the Office of Research and in collaboration with the Department for Economy, Sustainability and Health Sciences, has prioritized in its research policy.
Researchers re-entering the UMU are Juan José Gómez Navarro (Physics), Fatima Morales Marin (Organic Chemistry), Luis Alberto Vieira (Physiology), Silvia Espín Lujan (Toxicology), José Juan Fernandez Melgarejo (Physics), Carolina Maside Mielgo (Animal Medicine and Surgery), Javier Bastida Cerezo (Physical Chemistry), Manuel Angel Salinas Navarro (Ophthalmology), Manuela Lopez Perez (Marketing and Market Research), Alfonso González Ramallo (Computers) and Irene Muñoz Gabaldon (Zoology).
The remaining three will develop their research in the CEBAS-CSIC (Raul Dominguez Perles and Gregorio Barba Espin) and the UPCT (Fulgencio Garcia Canovas).
The beneficiaries of this program return to the region centers such as Harvard University (USA), the Institute of Cancer Research, Molecular Medicine and Biotechnology at Temple University (Philadelphia, USA), the University of Calgary (Canada) or University of Turku (Finland).
