Let's change condemns the alleged assault on a Civil Guard and regrets not available protocols (25/07/2016)

Let's change from Murcia want to show our rejection and condemnation of the facts in recent days, according to which an agent of the Guardia Civil claimed to have suffered over four years, alleged rape, and sexual abuse and harassment.

We regret that bodies such as the Civil Guard do not have immediate action protocols suspicion, no longer complaint of abuses of superiority, whether of the kind they are.

The events that have transpired are extremely serious and show how machismo still incardinated in professions that have been considered masculine and who refuse to integrate, equally, women.

According to sources of the Unified Association of Civil Guards, in the last half of 2015 they occurred in the Body 25 cases of workplace and sexual harassment.

Since our formation we appeal to a Civil Guard guarantor of the rights of women and identify responsibilities to the inequalities and abuses that are committed in its midst, and not a body more concerned about the media and the prestige of the institution.

In Let's change Murcia believe that what really discredits the institution is that those who had a duty to investigate, take action and establish responsibilities to evidence already denounced in 2013 they did and that by their silence, have lengthened the suffering of a companion until 2016.

What would honor this institution is to be a role model in respecting human rights in general and women in particular, reacting with the means and the strength necessary at the first sign of abuse of power and sexist abuse within the institution.

This would be the Guardia Civil worthy of our respect and trust.
