The Bureau of Tourism and Celebrations starts walking (08/07/2016)

Councilman Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesus Pacheco, and the councilman of Commerce and Institutional Relations, Maruja Pelegrin, presided this morning in the First Conference of Local Participation, the Bureau of Tourism and Celebrations.

Its objective is to develop, through consensus and participation, a strategic plan programming and promotion of festivals to convert to Murcia in "destination for holidays and leisure events nationwide with a festival that are socially profitable and economically" according to Pacheco.

This first meeting was attended by representatives of the Federation of Peñas vegetable garden, the Sardine Association, the Council of Guilds, Moors and Christians, of Hostemur, of the Convention Bureau of Ashomur, hotel establishments, companies cultural management and other trade associations, cultural, hospitality and tourism.

After a brief intervention councilor, attendees were able to express their suggestions as the need for further promotion of festivals or infrastructure for the arrival of passengers and the AVE.

Since Murcia has numerous festivals (international, national and regional) tourist attractions, this Mesa will establish measures to increase the impact on local economic sectors such as trade and tourism. "

What is sought is to value the festivals and events held in Murcia as a way to boost the local economy, improve the perception people have of Murcia brand abroad and help revitalize the heritage and citizen participation .

After this first global meeting, the council has explained that periodically representatives of the various groups will be convened by sector in order to develop this common strategy.
