The City Council will promote the cultural life of the town with ten strategic lines (08/07/2016)

Councilman Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesus Pacheco, presented this morning at the First Conference of Local Participation draft Strategy Culture of Murcia in which the main lines are set to follow by the City Council over the medium and long term in this area.

The presentation was attended by representatives of companies and associations in the performing arts, art galleries, business cultural management, cultural center, museums, folklore groups, universities and culture-related associations and heritage , among others.

This first meeting is the beginning of a participatory process in which all actors and groups involved can offer their suggestions and opinions to create a Cultural Strategy Murcia result of consensus and agreement.

Pacheco explained that "we are looking to get this project with the same neighbors as many can recognize and identify as a good project capable of generating enthusiasm and propose a viable future is much more profitable."

The council has started his speech stating that "culture should play a key role in placing the Huerta as a future not as past, strengthening it as the most important asset of the city of Segura".

The ten lines in which the Strategy of Culture of the municipality of Murcia is based are as follows:

LINE 1: Enhance image culture as a development model that focuses on sustainability.

LINE 2: Encouraging dynamic collective identification to help us build the present and project the future.

Not enough to preserve the traditions must update and generate new symbolic features that serve as a bulwark to build a better future.

LINE 3: Zoom and promote contemporary culture through the creation, experimentation and research, accessible and plural.

LINE 4: To encourage creativity and cultural production as elements of innovation and economic development, promoting professionalization processes.

LINE 5: Designing a diverse and quality cultural offer that meets all citizens, to different age groups and all parts of the territory.

LINE 6: Working to overcome historical imbalances in access to culture in the population of the municipality.

LINE 7: Encourage citizen participation and strengthen the socio-cultural fabric of the municipality.

LINE 8: Designing a policy viable and sustainable equipment that meets the peculiarities of the territory and allow meet with sufficient quality and guarantee cultural needs of citizens.

LINE 9: encourage the participation of private initiative in support of projects under open and transparent processes, also promoting sponsorship or sponsorship in programs that have a high social return

LINE 10: Reorganizing the municipal structure of the Department of Culture so that it is able to meet the needs and new challenges.
