Improved bus connection in the districts of the South Coast expands frequencies and services (07/07/2016)

The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta and the Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Pedro Rivera, signed the cooperation agreement between the City and the Community today to improve public passenger transport in the municipality of Murcia, which will improve the connection bus in the villages of the South Coast, beneficiendo about 100,000 residents of the municipality.

Specifically, the priority action for the city of Murcia includes two lines: 78, between El Secano (Beniaján) with La Arrixaca, which will be improved and expanded its frequency, serving more population centers and making further travel;

and line 30, which connects Zeneta Murcia, which extends their frequency and schedules.

Following the signing of this agreement, which is the administrative basis for the implementation of these first lines, the Monitoring Committee, formed by two members of the City Council and the Ministry of Development, will meet in the coming days and will discuss the proposed improvements.

11 beneficiary districts

They are about 11 villages benefited from the implementation of the services of both lines.

The 78th, which runs Beniaján, TorreagĂźera, La Alberca, Santo Angel, El Palmar, La Arrixaca, San Ginés and Era Alta.

Meanwhile, line 30 passes through Zeneta, San Jose de la Vega, Los Dolores and Murcia (Gran Vía).

Given the special urban configuration of the municipality, where much of the population lives in villages, "it is essential to ensure special attention to issues related to mobility, since the displacement acquire greater relevance to the neighbors, who need quality of service, "concluded the mayor.

With the agreement signed today, both governments reiterated their willingness to hold regular working meetings in order to establish formulas to expedite the implementation of a quality public transport in the city and villages.
