The Governing Council authorized the signing of an agreement between the Community, through the Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure, and the city of Murcia to improve public passenger transport within the municipality of Murcia.
The agreement provides for the promotion of passenger transport through improvements to facilitate mobility between the city of Murcia and districts, with the aim of providing better services to users.
Given the special urban configuration of Murcia, where much of the population resides in the districts, the Ministry and the City Council agree to develop improvements in public transport in the municipality that affect regular services in general use, and the determining economic contributions that could make consistory said.
In addition, a monitoring committee consisting of two representatives of the Directorate General of Transport and Ports Costas members and two representatives of the Department of Public Works to maintain regular working meetings and establish ways to increase the quality of public transport will be created.
The agreement does not derive economic obligations.
