The rector of Students of the University of Murcia (UMU), Carmen Ferrándiz, and the Minister of Education and Universities, Maria Isabel Sanchez-Mora, inaugurated today the Campus Inclusive 2016, in which boys and girls with disabilities live the college experience stays of this educational institution.
The program, which reaches its fifth edition, is promoted by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport and foundations ONCE and Repsol with the primary aim of reducing early school leaving students with disabilities.
Until next July 15, young secondary school and training cycles will know first hand the academic offerings of the University of Murcia and the services it provides to students with disabilities, while enjoy sporting activities and scheduled entertainment.
The UMU is one of nine universities in six regions selected to develop this program, with the University of Murcia the only one who has participated in all editions.
Data that reflects the commitment of the UMU with attention to diversity;
It not in vain, according to the Guide Care Disability Universia Foundation, is the Spanish university with the highest percentage of students with disabilities, 2.7% versus 1.3% of the national average.
