Thus, on a proposal from Conchita Ruiz Caballero, councilor responsible for Social Rights, it is necessary to raise awareness of the plight of victims of human trafficking and promote and protect their rights as millions of people, mostly women and girls / as They are victims of networks trafficking in human beings, in their own countries and abroad.

In this sense, Ruiz Caballero said that trafficking "is a crime that exploits human beings for many purposes, including forced trafficking and sex, nearly 21 million people worldwide are victims of this."
