The municipal company Aguas de Murcia back another year to collaborate in the development of a cooperation project.
Thus, the winner of the seventh edition of Aguas de Murcia Solidaria Award has been the NGO Foundation Humanism and Democracy that will work on improving access to drinking water in the Los Paleos community in the municipality of Les Cacaos Haiti.
The prize, amounting to 10,000 euros, has to be invested in development aid projects concerning water infrastructure
This project aims to ensure the right to drinking water to 95 families and about 750 people, the Los Paleos community in the municipality of Les Cacaos Department Center in Haiti.
To achieve this goal, the installation of the necessary infrastructure of water supply to ensure continuous and close access to their homes, according to the criteria defined to enjoy the human right to water in its fullness is proposed.
It is also contemplated to carry out all necessary actions to ensure proper maintenance and management of built infrastructure as well as public awareness for sustainable use of water.
In previous editions it has managed the implementation of the following projects:
In 2009, "Improving the conditions of access to water 2,900 people (1,660 women and 1,240 men) of the town of Niévrare, in the commune of BoerToress, Wilaya of Trarza, Mauritania" by Assembly of Cooperation for Peace.
In 2010 the winner was EWB, with the project "Same District Water Sanitation Program: Strengthening the sustainability of water and sanitation services in communities Njora, Vumari and Ishinde, Tanzania"
In 2011 the winner was for the second time, Cooperation Assembly for Peace with the "Improving food security of the inhabitants of the commune of Djonaba in the province of MaghtaLahjar, region Brankna, Mauritania" project, benefiting 2,521 people directly and 12,562 indirectly.
In 2012, International Solidarity, with its project "Improving the quality of life of Afro-Colombian communities affected by the armed conflict in the department of Cauca, Colombia" was chosen as the winner of the fourth edition.
In 2013 Alliance for Solidarity won the award for the project "Access to water the inhabitants of the village of Las Casitas of El Salvador".
In 2014 the project presented by FADE won the sixth edition and is making it possible to bring clean water Mbleoa rural populations and Ayene in Cameroon.
