The Governing Board has given the green light this morning to the collaboration agreement between the City and the Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure that seeks to improve public passenger transport in the municipality of Murcia.
To do this, the necessary steps to promote this public service and facilitate mobility between the city of Murcia and districts, with the ultimate aim to ensure the best performance for users measures will be developed.
Given the special urban configuration of the municipality, where much of the population lives in villages, it is essential to ensure special attention to issues related to mobility, since the displacement acquire greater relevance to citizens, they need to have quality service.
Thus, the first lines in which they start work are the line 78, linking the Dryland Torreagüera with Arrixaca, and line 30 from Zeneta to Murcia.
In this context, municipality and autonomous region formalized in an agreement the commitment to develop improvements in public transport in the city of Murcia that affect regular services in general use, as well as determining the financial contributions to be made by the City of Murcia.
In addition, both governments reiterated their willingness to hold regular working meetings in order to establish formulas for the implementation of a quality public transport in the city and villages.
To study the various measures a Monitoring Committee consists of two members representing the Ministry of Public Works and two members representing the City will be established.
