The neediest families will be guaranteed free room of their children in summer school (14/06/2016)

The Local Network for Social Inclusion, the plural and participatory body composed of the main social institutions, sets the map to open new soup kitchens in neighborhoods or districts that require it.

The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, accompanied by the Councillor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, today presided over the constitution of the Local Network for Social Inclusion, a plural and participatory organization designed to promote joint efforts and synergies on services social, between local and regional government, and the most representative third sector organizations (Caritas, Roma Secretariat Foundation, Foundation CEPAIM, RAIS Foundation, Red Cross, Trust Jesus Forsaken, Columbares Association, EAPN).

Network Social Inclusion, which began operating last October in different groups of specialized work, planned ahead this summer a series of summer schools with dining included, for families living in poverty or at risk of exclusicón social.

"This seasonal measure is complementary to priority support that the City provides throughout the year to families in situations of social emergency, which allows 35,000 families and children in their care have covered the costs of basic food and other lines help (roots, dependency, etc.), "said Conchita Ruiz.

Specifically, at least 13 summer schools (9 of them are new) will lead dining included.

These schools are promoted by Social Services, Caritas, Columbares and Abraham Project.

In addition, the City will promote this summer, for the first time, a single file for granting, on an exceptional basis, aid equivalent services lunchroom for those families who can not benefit from other aid, and they are at the discretion of social service professionals, at risk of poverty and social exclusion.

In this regard, the head of Social Rights added that "the objective is to ensure coverage for all children and families who are going through a difficult situation."

Summer schools

During July, the Department of Social Rights of the City of Murcia organizes 40 Summer Schools in different neighborhoods and districts of the hours of 10 to 13.00 hours municipality, from 4 to 22 July, (the leading dining room until 14 : 00 hours).

Priority is given to children who have participated in the course 2015/16 in Municipal Projects of Social Services (PAI and / or Ciberaula) and propose the Municipal Social Services Centres.
