The City of Murcia offers support for taxi rides to people with physical disabilities (02/06/2016)

People suffering from a physical disability that hinders their mobility to use public transport groups have the support of the City Council to make these trips by taxi.

This is a measure that promotes the Department of Social Rights, directed by Conchita Ruiz, with the aim of promoting full social integration of the disabled, allowing enjoy equal opportunities as other citizens in all areas of life daily, referring to the work environment, training and vocational training, rehabilitation assistance or leisure activities and leisure, among others.

Ruiz said today that the deadline to apply for aid is open until 13 and can be sued to attend vocational training centers, scroll to the workplace, go to rehab and / or medical examinations, attend various activities and address any another need for mobility in specific situations.

Although the call occurs now, aid for the use of taxis during 2016, so that when it is provided, users can present travel documents also made during the first half.

The Department of Social Rights has 85,000 euros for these grants, which will benefit approximately 200 people.

Last year, 195 permits were approved for amounts ranging between 285 € and 600 € lower maximum.

It is registered in the municipality of Murcia, have recognized the legal status of disabled person and have a physical disability that prevents use public transport groups are the requirements to access this grant.

Applications and relevant documentation must be submitted in the General Register of the City or the Information Offices located in the districts.

Meanwhile, users who benefit from the service will have to request a receipt or bill the driver after each journey made to justify the expense of aid granted.

With this and other actions promoted by the City "are fulfilling the lines of action in different areas such as transport, awareness and social integration that we proposed in order to eliminate discriminatory situations related to disability," said Conchita Ruiz.
