The Municipal Socialist Group will defend next Monday in the Municipal Council an initiative for the creation of a working group to improve the coordination and organization of the cultural offer of the City of Murcia.

According to the Socialists, with the same cultural resources that currently has the consistory it could improve both participation and transparency and efficiency in municipal cultural services.

"In addition to the eigenvalue of the culture, it fulfills a social function and has great weight in the economy. In the municipality of Murcia there is a cultural museums, cultural centers and auditoriums that does not respond to an internal work plan, or coordination or specific organization. the consequence is the lack of homogeneity in the cultural programs of the various centers that exist in our town as there is no clear guidance for cultural policy, "said the socialist councilor Begoña García Retegui.

"Do not take advantage optimally all resources at our disposal, because of the serious lack of coordination that exists even between different areas of the same Department of Culture," stated Garcia Retegui, who added that "in addition there are external and free professional firms carrying some cultural services without committing to a specific work plan and therefore far from efficient management ".
