The UCAM will present his studies at the Royal Academy of Medicine and Surgery of Murcia (26/05/2016)

The Catholic University of Murcia participate in the series of 'Young Researchers Region Murcia' in this case with the research group `Bioinformatics and High Performance Computing (BIO-HPC)', led by Dr. Horacio Pérez Sánchez Chemistry.

The UCAM will have a leading role in the 4th Session Cycle `Young researchers Murcia' Region, organized by the Royal Academy of Medicine and Surgery of the Region of Murcia, to be held today in the hall of this academy at 19:30.

The Catholic University of Murcia, in its commitment to sign for the development of quality research, serve as an engine for innovation and internationalization of the business, enhances the development of leading research groups with high scientific and capable productivities implement projects to meet the business needs.

BIO-HPC, only group in the region applying structural bioinformatics for drug discovery is one of the research groups with greater scientific productivity of the UCAM.

This group has been awarded UCAM, TETRACOM in the European call for the creation of a spin-off that provides computational chemistry provides services to Pharma and Biotech companies contributing to the development of new drugs.

In this European project, granted exclusively in the region of Murcia UCAM these researchers, have worked in collaboration with universities from different countries such as Italy, Hong Kong and Iceland.

These researchers UCAM, who will present their activities related to structural bioinformatics and its applicability to the pharmaceutical industry, developing projects related to diseases such as Parkinson's disease, Fabry disease or other inflammatory pathologies.

Likewise, through the initiative of Industrial Doctorates, promoted by the Catholic University, works with the company design and synthesis of organic compounds, Villapharma in the development of new drugs that could inhibit fascinates protein involved in the development of metastasis.
