The actress Gemma Cuervo will be honored at the XXVIII Spanish Film Week Mula (26/05/2016)

The contest of short films distributed six thousand euros in prize

Spanish Film Week Mula, organized by the Cine-Club Second Chomón and the City Council of the town, celebrates its XXVIII edition this year.

In this event the University of Murcia participates, in which Rector is done, another year, the presentation of the event.

At the presentation were present the Vice Chancellor for Communication, Culture and Sports of the University of Murcia Monica Galdana Pérez Morales, mayor of Mula Juan Jesus Moreno Garcia, the director of the Spanish Film Week, Martin del Toro, and the author of this year's poster, the artist José Semitiel.

Short hundred in search of prize

From May 29 to June 4 the town of Mula becomes the center of the national cinema, displaying a selection of some of the best films released this year.

Similarly, it also celebrates the National Short Film Competition, an event which this year celebrates its XXIII edition and has 4,000 euros in prize money.

The prize, which turns 23 editions, there have been more than one hundred works and has 4,000 euros in the various prizes awarded (Jury Prize: 2000 €; Special Audience Prize: 1000 €; Animation Award: 500 €; Award young: 500 €).

There are also established awards for Best Actor, Actress, Screenplay, Director and Photography, all equipped with a trophy that reproduces an Iberian ex-voto found in the vicinity of the municipality and authored by local artist Ramón González.

Selected short films will be screened during the film week at the Teatro Lope de Vega before the current panorama films that can be seen from Sunday to Friday at a popular price (2 euros).

The programming consists of the films 'Juliet', 'Truman', 'Bride', 'The Cry', 'Nobody wants night' and 'Kiki make love'.

Coinciding with the presentation of the Spanish Film Week, a preview in Murcia which has become for years the starting point of the Spanish Film Week takes place on Thursday May 26.

In Centrofama cinemas in the capital the national premiere of the film 'Cliff' Helena Taberna, played by Goya Toledo, Daniel Grao and Juana Acosta, in a session that will be accessible by invitation through projects today at 20 am the kindness of the company Neocine.

A tribute to 60 years in studios and on stage

The honoree this year will be veteran actress Gemma Cuervo coinciding with the Closing Gala Film Week to be held in the Teatro Lope de Vega on Saturday June 4 and where it will present the awards in the short film competition.

A festival that thinks young

Del Toro explained that during the week activities will be conducted with schoolchildren in the town, as matinee screenings for school nursery and primary or secondary projections for short.

With school work is completed with an Audiovisual Production Contest for youth aimed Secondary Education across the region and this year has 15 participants work arrived from different parts of the Community.

The rector Galdana Monica Perez, meanwhile, praised the consistency and continuity of this festival that already has 28 years running, while the mayor stressed the need to support cultural events like this, so that the film remains an important reference.

In presenting the festival that was held this morning also featured the artist José Semitiel ciezano, author of the poster announcing the activity.

Semitiel explained that he has chosen a young brunette woman to star in his work as a symbol of 'the Spanish', anchoring reference in his famous castle Mula, referred beside her.
