Ten projects engines backbone of the Strategy of the City until 2020 (25/05/2016)

The conclusions drawn from the six Working Groups Social Council have materialized in a city strategy which "marks the path of the priorities of Murcia society," said Ballesta.

The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, today chaired the meeting of the Social Council in which the major city projects for 2020, drawn from the findings made by the advisory body exposed participation.

"The Social Council has provided us with an accurate and precise starting point located in Murcia and the main lines of action and projects in which we must focus our efforts over the next four years diagnosis, said José Ballesta.

A shared vision of city

In total, there are 10 projects engines that have been defined: the AVE and burial, as decisive national infrastructure for mobility and socioeconímico progress of the municipality;

Murcia River, recovering a structuring space from the heart of the city itself;

and the major structural equipment, among which are the rehabilitation of the Old Jail, the set of San Esteban, the Veronicas market and the Malecon-Curtel Artillery.

Regional focuses on the recovery of the city for pedestrians and cyclists;

the patrimony of the Huerta de Murcia;

special plans in unique places like Monteagudo and El Malecón;

an Improvement Plan Urban Landscape combining cleaning, green areas and accessibility;

These ten projects engines are articulated around four lines of action: social, territorial, productive and cultural;

Funding streams
