already they approved the foundation of the XXVI National Music Band Contest City of Murcia whose registration period will comprise from 1 to 24 June.
Applications to participate can be sent to oficinafestivales@ayto-murcia.es.
The number of musicians for each participating band will be in the second section of 51 to 70 musicians, and the third section of up to 55 musicians.
The corresponding works required for each section in this edition are in the second section "Symphony No. 6 for band" of Vincent Persichetti, and the third section "The Wich and the Saint" by Steven Reineke.
Each band will also perform a piece of free choice.
The Department of Employment, Tourism and Culture will award the following prizes:
Section Two:
1st prize 1,800 euros ..............................................

.............................................. 1,250 euros 3rd Prize
Section Three:
1st prize 1,550 euros ..............................................
.............................................. 1,250 euros 2nd Prize
.............................................. 1,050 euros 3rd Prize
To determine which bands will be participating a sweepstakes to be held on June 30, at 17 pm in the Romea Theater of Murcia will be held.
