The UCAM enhances the professional development of students and graduates through the Job Day (20/05/2016)

Campus Jeronimos this week hosted a conference to promote employability under the slogan Job Day, he has approached students and new graduates tools and trends to enhance their professional development.

The initiative, promoted by the Employment Service SOIL UCAM department under the ITM Institute of Technology, seeks to act as a link between companies, graduates and students, offering a space organizations and institutions to attract qualified personnel.

Through various discussions and activities that have been developed, attendees were able to see first hand the current criteria for selection of companies to attract college talent served, delving into what is expected of them and how address barriers to career success.

It also has been made available to students and useful information to turn them into professionals who demand the organizations through employment proposals, practical advice and entrepreneurial projects.

At the meeting, held in the Auditorium of the Catholic University, they participated Emma Barceló, Capgemini;

Sofia Vazquez, Booking Inglés;

Maria Sanchez, OVB Allfinanz;

and Javier Notario, Union Consulting.

Among the criteria of employability most demanded today, speakers have highlighted, among others, the importance of work experience during the race, the capacity for teamwork, versatility and adaptability to new environments, ease to function in adverse situations;

conflict management;

as well as languages ​​and international mobility, the latter two decisive factors today.

On the other hand, it has also been emphasized self-employment and the benefits that arise when a freelancer.

Entrepreneurship, employment alternative

In addition, during the meeting it was held a roundtable on entrepreneurship, organized by Telefonica Open Future, and which have participated Gela Rato, millennial maker and representative of that entity;

Javier Martinez, production manager of iUrban;

and Marta Nicholas, co-founder of Muapp, who has stepped through Skype.

During the presentation, the guests have shared with attendees the motivations that led them to launch their own company;

how they were overcoming the difficulties;

the successes and failures;

and the challenges in the near future.

The employment of students UCAM stands at 70%

At the end of the presentations, it has released the rate of employment of graduates of the UCAM, located at 70%, according to data from the last report by the ITM, based on the quality surveys conducted by the institution teaching.

These surveys seek to reflect the transition of graduates to the labor market;

obtain indices on the employment of graduates;

know under what conditions and why roads entering the labor market;

the adequacy of the academic studies as they play;

and the type of contract.

The report has thrown membership data to the very high Social Security Administration Degree in Business Administration and Management, with 93%;

Criminology, with 82%;

Grades and Computer Engineering and Engineering in Telecommunications Systems, with 91% and 83%, respectively.
