The Department of Applied Psychology at the University of Murcia (UMU), under the Vice President Transfer, Entrepreneurship and Employment, along with a prison of this city, they conducted a study that aims to prevent recidivism perpetrators of violence of genre.
The research investigates the type of offenders are more likely to repeat these behaviors in order to establish the necessary measures to avoid them.
The study makes several classifications of offenders in which personality disorders are related to types of violence and psychological characteristics.
These types provide information to assess the risk of recidivism, counting with different measuring instruments, that value up to twenty risk factors.
The results identified a significant relationship between personality disorder, characteristics of the offender and risk of recidivism.
The study's authors are Llor Bartolome Esteban, Jesus J. Garcia-Jimenez, Jose Antonio Ruiz-Hernandez and Carmen Godoy Fernández.
