The University of Murcia (UMU) today held the presentation of an electronic dictionary of neologisms of the current Spanish, work that has led General Linguistics professor of this institution Carmen Sanchez Manzanares.
The dictionary, open and free access, is hosted on the website of the UMU (www.um.es/neologismos) and electronic format, plus the search for neologisms, allows to know the process of formation of new voices or route these entry in the language, among others.
For the preparation of the work, as explained by the teacher during the ceremony, which took place in the House of Arts, it has been collected neologisms published in recent years in the press of Murcia and Alicante.
At the same event, it was also presented the volume "Studies of the Spanish neologism" which have coordinated Sanchez Manzanares own and professor at the University of Alicante Azorin Dolores Fernandez.
The book, edited by the Publications Service of the University of Murcia (EDITUM), compiles eight works of many other specialists of this branch of linguistics.
Both works are the result of a research project funded by the Seneca Foundation.
In the presentation they have, in addition to the authors, the Vice President for Communication, Culture and Sports, Monica Perez intervened Galdana;
the manager of the Seneca Foundation, Antonio González, and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Pascual Cantos.
