The University of Murcia (UMU) is the institution of higher education in the region with the highest number of high performance indicators in the ranking CYD of the Knowledge and Development Foundation.

The ranking includes one 31 institutional indicators, which involved 60 Spanish universities, and another 44 indicators for ten areas of knowledge.

UMU has high performance in all sections of the institutional ranking, namely "Teaching and Learning", "Research", "Knowledge Transfer", "international orientation" and "Contribution to regional development."

By areas of knowledge, the University of Murcia stands out especially (high yield) Informatics (Knowledge Transfer and Research), Medicine (Research) and Psychology (Transfer of Knowledge, Research and Contribution to regional development).
