#MurciaconSiria Campaign begins humanitarian aid for refugees (09/05/2016)

The City Council provides support to the organizers and enables ten 'solidarity points "material collection centers for women, in addition to those established in schools and pharmacies.

The campaign will run until Friday 13

The councilman of Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz Caballero, participated this morning in the humanitarian aid campaign 'The Region of Murcia with Refugees', donating various foods at one of the collection points, particularly in the Social Center of Women El Carmen, for emergency humanitarian aid to be sent to people who suffer from war in Syria.

With the name #MurciaconSiria, this joint initiative which opened today, will run until Friday 13, can make donations at various collection points and aims on the one hand, encourage the collection of non-perishable food (no pork), as preserved fish;

cereals;

pasta;

vegetables;

milk powder;

baby food;

energy bars and juices;

and secondly, the collection of medical equipment, among which includes alcohol and hydrogen peroxide;

iodine;

distilled water;

scissors and tweezers;

bandages;

Band-Aids;

gauzes;

cotton;

dressings;

thermometers;

sphygmomanometers;

wheelchairs and crutches.

The City of Murcia, through the Department of Social Rights and the Office for Refugees, has established ten solidarity points located in the Centers for Women located in El Carmen, Cabezo de Torres, Vistabella, Alquerías Patino, Sangonera Green, North, Vistalegre, El Palmar and San Antolín Ronda.

At all points will be informative posters joint products needed humanitarian aid, along with all the places and date of collection.

It has also established a network of schools and collaborators pharmacies in the city and districts, as well as a bank account for donations to the Association to Support the Syrian People (AAPS).

The campaign is organized by various civic organizations such as the Multicultural Association of Arab Youth Averroes Murcia (AMAJAM) and Platform for Aid to Refugees Murcia (PAREM).
