12,500 euros City Council intended to maintain attention to families with mentally ill and develop protection activities Health (08/05/2016)

The Governing Board has given the green light to the extension of the collaboration agreement with the Association of Families and Persons with Mental Illness (AFES) to develop the program 'social educator for the mentally ill' allocating a sum of 4,500 euros, through the Department of Sports and Health directing Felipe Coello.

The objective of the agreement is to carry out activities aimed at interaction and social reintegration of people affected by chronic mental illness, through the intervention of a specialized social educator who can facilitate autonomy, the ability of social management and quality of life of these people.

Since 2005 remains in force the agreement signed with this association.

Moreover, the collective 'Do not deprive yourself', lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender receives a grant of 8,000 euros for the development of activities of protection and prevention of Health.

This grant, especially serve to the realization in the municipality of Murcia, volunteer collective, rapid screening test HIV in saliva.

Murcia City Council has a Service of Prevention and Health Promotion who knows the need for public health measures for the control of sexually transmitted diseases and in particular AIDS, since the epidemiological data indicate a diagnosis late that could be addressed by increasing accessibility through rapid detection test.

With this grant will be offered the service of rapid testing and prevention programs, and information related to HIV, in a more accessible form advice.
