The Norwegian pianist Marina Selvik and Spanish Vicente Prieto shared the first prize in the second edition of International Piano Competition I cry Murcia held throughout the weekend.
Both players have been chosen from 14 participants from 8 countries by the jury chaired by the teacher Aquiles Delle Vigne and professors Pilar Valero and Pedro Valero.
Evgeniya Antonova and Aya Sakamoto (second prize) and Maxim Kulagin and James Guan (third prize) have completed the honor roll.
In addition, José Vicente Riquelme has been recognized as the best pianist in the Region of Murcia.
The awards ceremony and the subsequent concert have offered all participants has put an end to two days of music with the piano as protagonist.
At the closing ceremony was attended, among others, José Ballesta, mayor of Murcia, Marta López Briones, director of the Institute of Cultural Industries and the Arts, Jesus Pacheco, Councillor for Culture of the City of Murcia, or Jose Ignacio Gras spokesman Municipal group PSOE.
Two days in which performers arrived from Japan, Russia, Australia, Israel, Italy, Korea, Norway and Spain have interpreted pieces of Mozart, Rachmaninoff, Schumann, Beethoven or Chopin.
Among them they have been the Murcian Alejandro Rubio, Vicente Prieto and José Vicente Riquelme.
"The high level of all participants has been the common denominator in this issue. The aim is now to consolidate as a tradition and a symbol of excellence for the region," said Chema Casanova, director of the organization.
