Let's change Councilwoman Murcia, Margarita Guerrero, will present to plenary next week a motion to guarantee service dining public schools to children from disadvantaged families during the summer holidays.
The initiative proposes that the City enable an endowment to take extraordinary service management in that period, if the Autonomous Community does not take care of it.
Guerrero has warned that for many families facing a serious economic situation is very difficult to ensure adequate food for the little ones, they have to fill this gap with the food they perform in schools through scholarships room.
Therefore, before the advent of school time, "the government must meet its obligation to defend the rights of individuals, and infant feeding is a fundamental right that must be protected."
In addition, the mayor pointed out that the rate of poverty and social exclusion in the region of Murcia exceeds the state average, with the children and youth two of the most vulnerable groups.
The opening of the dining in summer is also a request from the Ombudsman, Soledad Becerril, who believes that ensuring adequate infant feeding should be a priority for all public authorities.
