Art therapy causes increased spontaneity and emotional expressiveness of people with mental disabilities, according to the conclusions of the doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Murcia by Jesus Francisco Coll Espinosa.
The research, which has obtained the qualification of outstanding cum laude adds that has also seen an increase in the ability to put oneself in the other, increasing the memories of his life and taste for sharing.
The study says that art therapy is based on the understanding of the person as a creative being, "which brings us to the theory of the unconscious as a permeable space and continuous creation and development."
The doctoral thesis, which was judged by a court presided professor at the University of Murcia Manuel Esteban, was led by the teachers of this institution equally Francisco Javier Corbalan.
