The Office of Graffiti innovates with a traveling mural on women (14/04/2016)

The Municipal Office Graffiti continues launching innovative actions.

This month, the dependent service the Department of Public Works, in collaboration with Ferrovial and within initiative '12 months 12 walls' will hold a traveling mural.

This graffiti, dedicated to the rights of women and measuring 4 meters wide and two meters high, is made of foam board and tour the various Centers for Women at their request, like any other group that so wishes.

In it appear different reasons related to women and name of important women as the scientist Marie Curie, Clara Campoamor policy or writer Carmen Conde.

Also they have included other names such as Merche, Asun, Elena, Maite, Sonia or Marta, so that other women look on it reflected.

In addition, one of the innovative elements of this mural is that all those who wish may sign on it showing their support for the rights of women

Councillor for Public Works, Roque Ortiz, accompanied by various members of the Municipal Corporation and the regional director of Ferrovial, Jorge Tejedo, has delivered this afternoon mural Councilwoman Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, and the presidents of the centers of the woman.

It is a wall in which women are painting their own wall, are developing their work and building their identity in graffiti.

In it you can see three women of different races, each dressed differently.

In the back one bears the number 8 symbolizes the March 8, another bears the symbol of the female sex and are making a mural where each has written the name of these important women in our history, just as there are names anonymous women who have gone through that wall and have captured their name.

In one of the symbols of the female sex is an eye looking through it and represents the eye of an observer and thoughtful woman looking to the world and aims to convey the message that puts the end of the wall 'Let me tell the world … through my eyes'.

Other symbols to highlight on the wall is the Earth as Mother Earth and the planets represented, Venus goddess of love and war god Mars, which represents the struggle of working women.

Moreover, the Office has served in real time a hundred requests since the launch one month of hotline Whatsapp ago.
