The ancient city of Kashgar in the Mills River area (13/04/2016)

Tomorrow Thursday, April 14, at 20 pm, the Space Molinos del Rio gets the opening of the exhibition on Kasghar photographer Luis Sáez murciano of.

This municipal area, under the Department of Culture, visitors move this sample to China.

On other occasions and always with photographers Murcia has organized other exhibits on America or Africa in an attempt to delve into new ways of seeing.

Mar Sáez, Joaquín Clares, Kike Gomizia, Tatiana Abellán, Mathias Gomez ... have shown images of many countries.

Kashgar is a composite of several portraits and landscapes made in the cities of Kashgar and Yarkand and surrounding Taklamakan desert oasis and Lake Karakul, Pamir plateau in the photographic project.

This region, known in the past as Kashgaria was an important enclave in the days of the Silk Road.

Since 1949 it is part of the People's Republic of China, constituting the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region, sometimes known as "the Chinese Wild West" because of its harsh environmental conditions and their secular isolation.

Currently, Kashgar is one of the cultural, linguistic and anthropological boundaries between East and West and at the same time, one of the places of crossbreeding of Central Asia where Uighurs, Han, Mongolians, Kazakhs, Uzbeks, Kyrgyz and Tajiks live.

Luis Sáez is traveler, painter, photographer, multidisciplinary artist and writer.

He has had numerous exhibitions and various photographic works, specializing in travel photography, landscapes and portraits.

He has also held several lectures and photographic projections on some of his travels in more than sixty countries on five continents.

"Kashgar" is his first solo photography exhibition in a space of the City of Murcia and is composed of 32 selected images and this series.

The exhibition will remain open until the end of May.
