Geometric Splendor is a Spanish industrial music group formed in 1980 with Arturo Lanz, Gabriel Riaza and Juan-Carlos Sastre, all former members of The Aviator Dro and your Skilled workers.

They took the name of Geometric Splendor of a futuristic poem by Italian writer Filippo Tommaso Marinetti.

In 1981 they released their first single (single), Necrosis en la Poya, with the Tic Tac seal, followed by their debut LP, The Steel Party in 1982. In 1985 the group formed his own label, Geometric Splendor Discs, and published his second LP, Commissioner of Light.

His easily recognizable style of harsh industrial rhythms developed in his next two albums: Kosmos Kino in 1987 and Mekano Turbo in 1988, the latter considered by many as the final release of EG.

After the 1989 live album Live in Utrecht, future editions appear with Geometrik seal.

El Sheikh Aljama 1991 shows Arab influences in music, whereas Veritatis Splendor (1994) and the Balearic Rhythms (1996) show (at least partly) softening of their traditionally abrasive sound.

For now the group is a duo formed by Arturo Lanz and Saverio Evangelista, the last to join the group in 1990. In 1997 Polyglophone shows the return of EG indeed to full aggression of his previous works and, the following year, artists as Coil and Chris & Cosey contributed with versions of classic subjects of Geometric splendor to remixing En-co-d-sPLENDOR album.

In 2002, EG chinesco album, iron compound, was released, while a double CD compilation, Anthology 1981-2003, proved a success in stores in 2005.

Lanz lives in Beijing and Evangelista in Rome but the group remains very active.

Although often they ignored in histories of electronic / industrial music and many of its extremely difficult to find issues, EG has had a strong influence, not only in industrial music but within the wider electronic field.

Their influence is especially detected in the sound of artists like Autechre and Pan Sonic
