Representatives of 70 universities from ten countries are meeting today and tomorrow at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Portugal), at the Fourth International Congress TUI, organized by the International Observatory of the University Student Card of the University of Murcia sponsored by Banco Santander through Santander Universities.
The symposium, in its fourth edition, has become the most important international event in relation to the University Smartcard (TUI), a credential that, for its advanced technology, adapting its functions to the demands of each university community, and currently it is issued by Banco Santander in collaboration with 306 universities in 14 countries.
After the previous edition held at the Technical University Federico Santa Maria of Valparaiso, Chile, Congress returns to Europe, Portugal, where the situation of the TUI be analyzed, new trends and technological advances will be presented in response to changing times and new mobile environments.
The speakers will share success stories and discuss in panel discussions how to make better TUI, and the possibilities offered by the universities.
Representatives of the four observatories TUI Santander, two based in Brazil, and two in Spain: the University of Murcia and another at the University of Cantabria, shared with the audience his experience with the card, and the evolution of its services mobile environments.
The University of Murcia has for these initiatives with the support of Banco Santander, in the framework of the cooperation that both institutions kept since 1997. The result of this relationship was born in December 2012 the International Observatory of the University Smart Card, based on the area Information Technology and Applied Communications (ATTICA) of the University of Murcia.
In addition to the organization of four conferences on the TUI, the observatory does an important job investigating new uses and services applicable to university environments, it acts as a reference center solutions in eGovernment based on certificates of TUI and serves as a visitor center, demonstrations and dissemination of success stories and best TUI (www.observatoriotui.com) experiences.
