MURCIA NOW complained to the Seprona (Civil Guard) cutting elms, a species protected in two areas of the Acequia Mayor Alquibla.

Along with this complaint, the municipal formation sent paths internal communications to Town Planning, Environment and Huerta and the local police, for information on the facts and to perform the corresponding inspection as soon as possible, opening records that apply, if applicable.

The councilman and spokesman Now Murcia, Alicia Morales, explains that these events have taken place at two sites of the Acequia Mayor Alquibla, one of the oldest and most important channels of Huerta de Murcia, next to Lane Pacota in border between San Gines and Era Alta, and Nonduermas between road and rail barriers Vizconde.

In both places, along with large trees, they have been cleared juveniles and buds, while some of the units that have not been logging have been mutilated.

Several of the elms lane Pacota had more than 50 years, while in Nonduermas has plowed an area of ​​orchard and burning Hurdle has seriously affected a palm tree, which like the elms is a protected species.

Morales explains that, and claims that, in addition, both natural areas "are abundant garbage" this weekend the remains of felled specimens, including large trunks were still in the area. "The logging and uncontrolled burning that have already made are hopeless, but at least they should proceed immediately to the removal of garbage and avoid trade firewood logs, since it is prohibited to be negotiated with the remains of logging of protected species ".

The mayor deeply regrets taking place this kind of serious incidents, "the result of a profound ignorance or contempt for our environment, even which is protected".

In this sense, Councilman Morales requires "control over such events, so they do not produce more, and in this case, already been accomplished, the records come open."
