Famdif opens the doors of its new Center for Youth Day with 25 seats and personalized services (05/04/2016)

Padel adapted, workshops, hydrotherapy, literacy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, cultural and leisure activities ... they are some of the activities offered by the new Day Centre for Youth with Physical Disabilities Dependents 'Juan Cerezo' of Fandif / Cocemfe, a new space expands its seats to 25 and features personalized services for these young people, aged between 16 and 40 years.

The new facility, located in Rincon de Seca, was inaugurated this morning by the mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, the president of the regional government, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, and the president of Fandif / Cocemfe (Federation of Associations Murcianas of Physically Disabled and / or organic), Carmen Gil, and replace the old center of the fleet, which was launched in 2011.

Physiotherapy, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech, Psychology, Nursing, Healthcare, Paratransit and Food: specifically, the following services are offered.

These services are complemented by a series of programs aimed at achieving greater autonomy for each of the young people through the program of social, cognitive, psychosocial, rehabilitation development, etc.

adapted sports activities such as paddle tennis, futsal adapted, hydrotherapy (which is done once a week in a nearby pool facilities) as well as cultural activities, leisure and free time are also included.

The official opening of the new facilities also attended by the Councillor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, and the Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Thomas Violante.

The new facilities represent a significant expansion of available space for young users, who now enjoy specific areas for each activity.

Thanks to this, of the 15 seats arranged by the Instituto Murciano Social Action (IMAS) that existed (in addition to three private places), Famdif now has 25 seats accreditation for the new center.

Before this initiative Famdif, there were hardly any specialized day stay spaces for young people with physical disabilities dependent on the Region of Murcia.

After two years of work, users now have more extensive facilities and quality service in the coordinated work highlights the different specialists.
