The Murcia Moneo is dyed blue to celebrate World Autism Awareness Day (01/04/2016)

Annex building Municipality of Murcia, known as Moneo, located in the Belluga square is colored blue on Friday night, on the occasion of World Day for Autism Awareness, April 2, at the request of the Association for attention people with developmental disorders (ASTRADE).

This was announced by the Councillor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz Caballero, who said that the main objective is to "raise public awareness to understand, accept and include these children in social life, work and leisure, as well to promote equal rights for people with autism. "

According to Ruiz Caballero, autism "is considered a complex neurological disorder that now affects 1 in every 68 individuals and occurs in all racial, ethnic and social group, being four times more common in boys than in girls."

The United Nations General Assembly unanimously declared 2 April as World Autism Awareness Day, to highlight the need to improve the quality of life of children and adults with Spectrum Disorder Autism (ASD) and they can thus have a full and dignified life.
